We’re now just a few days away from the beginning of the 2019 Formula 1 season in Melbourne. This season bring anticipation on several levels, including new regulations aimed at aiding the cars in following more closely, new driver line-ups, and the potential for RedBull-Honda to enable Verstappen to battle for the WDC.
If you find F1 interesting and want to keep up with the news and get interesting insights into the behind the scenes personalities and intrigue, we can recommend two great podcasts:
The first is Beyond the Grid, F1’s official podcast. The first episode of 2019 will be available today through the normal podcast sources and will feature none other than the Iceman and 2007 WDC, Kimi Raikkonen. The 2018 season is also worth a listen. In particular, I enjoyed the JPM, JV, Alain Prost, and LH episodes. No, that has nothing to do with those guys being some of my all-time favs. The interviewer is great, the production values are fantastic and you’ll get a whole new perspective on F1 icons.
For an option that takes a more irreverent look into the sport, check out the Missed Apex Podcast. They’re a fun bunch of guys who live stream their show on YouTube on Sundays and have their podcast ready for listening on Monday each week. They keep things going even during the off-season, but had their Australia preview this week.
As those who have seen Ginger might recall, she has a #TEAMLH sticker on her rear bumper so we’ll be pulling for Hamilton to make it WDC number six and for Mercedes-AMG to make it another WCC, but it would be cool to see a three way battle with with Ferrari and Red Bull Racing.
