After a winter of procrastinating, I finally got some work done on Ginger’s drivetrain swap! The engine and gearbox are out!!!
The new drivetrain will comprise the 3.6L V6 from a 2015 Camaro and the manual transmission from 2010 Cadillac. They are both sitting in the garage. Given the size of these new parts, I was very hopeful that my lift would allow the engine to come in and out of the car from underneath, already mounted on the front sub-frame. Thankfully, that worked with what seems to be enough slack in lifting capacity to accommodate the taller V6. Fingers crossed.
Before we get into that, there is much to do. The brake lines, vac lines, etc. have to come out the engine bay so that it can be modified to accept the new engine. I also need to source a differential, an accelerator pedal, a power steering pump, and an alternator.
Expect updates as I made progress!
