While the Sim Racing season is winding down and rapidly being replaced by real-life cars, our inability to run GPL in multi-player last week was frustrating and we simply had to fix it.
The problem was that while the server was running, no one could complete the process of joining the game, with clients being told that certain car models were not available. Huh?
Turns out the problem was simple. Clients and server needed two files copied into the corresponding GPL car folders, one for the Lotus 49 and one for the Ferrari 312. For the Lotus, this is easy as the car comes with the base version of Assetto Corsa. The Ferrari, on the other hand, requires some DLC from Kunos, which will cost a whopping $7.99.
All of this is detailed in the instructions that come with GPL installation file, which makes this one mod that might be simpler to install manually (vs. using Content Manager).
My research also uncovered that a new version of GPL had been released: v2.20, which you can download here. Our servers have been updated as has been our content page.
